ION Oncology Practice Network is one of the country’s largest group purchasing organizations specializing in the support of community-based oncology. ION serves its membership of over 500 oncology practices in 2000 individual sites through contract pricing on therapeutics, practice management programs and tools, consultative services, and clinical education through live and virtual events.

Oncology Exchange is ION’s flagship educational and networking symposia. Held twice a year, these conferences feature speakers, all national thought leaders in their respective fields, reviewing key clinical findings on the latest clinical data, dosing patterns, supportive care techniques, and practice management issues in oncology. These meetings also offer multiple breakouts and provide an opportunity for networking among GPO members and industry leaders.

Oncology Exchange audience and format

Oncology Exchange is held two times a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. The 2026 dates and locations are June 19-20 in Las Vegas and October 2-3 in Orlando.
  • Each Oncology Exchange conference is attended by 100-150 ION GPO members from all practice types, sizes, and geographies
  • Attendance is comprised of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, CEOs, practice managers, and other office personnel
  • The meeting consists of a general session, where broad topics relevant to all attendees are conveyed via podium presentations and panel discussions, and dedicated clinical and business tracks
  • The entire event takes place around a central expo center with networking receptions and meals held each day

Opportunity for COA Fellows

For 2026 Oncology Exchange Spring, ION and COA will partner to bring a selective group of oncology fellows to the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend a Fellows-specific educational track to learn more about the community oncology setting, the dynamics of working in this model, the role of the GPO in supporting community oncology, and what can be expected when pursuing this path
  • Attend clinical programs where the latest data on a selection of tumor types, disease states, and innovative therapeutics will be shared
  • Participate in networking receptions and dinners, meeting community oncology providers, COA and ION leaders, and peers in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Have one-on-one time with community oncologists and practice CEO’s, to learn more about the community oncology setting
